What Part of Worship Is Like Heaven?

One of the questions our pilgrim band borrowed from Ship of Fools is “Which part of the service was like being in heaven?” I’ve been really distracted lately, and visiting new churches sometimes heightens it. This question really helps me focus on looking for the kingdom of God exactly when I should be. What part of your church’s worship (or any church’s worship if you don’t have a particular one) is like heaven for you?

A Pilgrim Band

Ancient pilgrims would travel cross-country in groups visiting all the shrines and cathedrals on their way. So I am doing soon, albeit more locally. Follow the exploits of our pilgrim band at NOLApilgrims.wordpress.com. We’ll explore the metropolitan area’s congregations, and swap thoughts over coffee after. I think it’s going to be fantastic. Who needs a “church family” in the wandering age?
